Artbeat is a non-profit, innovative arts showcase, community, and youth outreach program. It’s designed as an opportunity for artists to show their work in a way which allows for an in-depth exploration of art and artist. In addition to these purposes, Artbeat encourages artists and non-artists alike to explore their own inspirations and creativity, as Artbeat’s unique artist interviews may provide insight to the role of art in personal growth, self-expression, catharsis, general well-being, and cultural influence. Artbeat also reaches out to Milwaukee’s youth, providing and supporting arts programs for our youth.
The Artbeat Showcase Series allows artists to share not just their work; it’s an opportunity for event-goers to absorb who the artists are, what their art is all about, and the messages, if any, the artists wish convey. It is designed to create a unique connection between artist and enthusiast, and to give the art enthusiast an in-depth look at the person and the inspirations behind the art, in an intimate and relaxed setting. Artbeat shows will be videotaped for online broadcast and other promotional purposes. All Artbeat participants and audience members will be made aware that they may appear on a broadcast of the show.
We seek financial support from arts supporters, supporters of arts education, from the community at large, and grants. Artbeat functions in the Greater Milwaukee Area at this time, and the ultimate goal is to expand to a worldwide online arts community, with Artbeat Showcases and youth outreach programs throughout the U.S., Europe, and other areas.
